The general term for one whose gender identity diverges from their presumed sex (aka, a transgender person.) Specific terms are myrsewife and myrsemann.

Lordsman
One who acts as a caretaker for young landed people. A lordsman is at once a chaperone, tutor, confidant, and protector.
Mireman
A member of the unofficial lay holy order which stewards the Highmire. A mireman's chief duty is to perform the funerals of landed women, but he may also be called upon to assist in births, tend the sick, and provide shelter to pilgrims and wandering spirits.

On the numerous islands throughout the southwestern seas, small chapels, usually manned by a single priest, offer hospitality and space for worship to the fisherfolk and maritime traders who spend the majority of their lives on the water. Most fisher priests also maintain the lights on the islands, which warn sailors away from dangerous rocks and reefs.
St. Ysbal
Patron saint of Mornalglen and of the mountain regions of the Mornhalle specifically.
St. Gullan
Mornal patron saint of orphans. Orphan-houses are dedicated to him, and hopeful adoptive parents seek his intercession when seeking to adopt a child.
St. Cressida
Patron saint of the Highmire and of Hafonlea generally, as well as miremen, shepherds, fathers, and anglers. Her symbol is the white hare.
St. Uist
Patron saint of caretakers, particularly lordsmen.
Chantry Order
An order of holy sisters, primarily located in Iantas in Hafonlea and in Sychclif. The famous Canticle Tower in Sychclif is the site of a Chantry tradition: sisters, in numbers corresponding to the hour of the day, climb the tower to participate in the continuous singing of a hymn by St. Sverre, which takes approximately one hundred years to complete.
Daughters of Adile Contemplator
A holy order of sisters originating in Cartouzh, who maintain a focus on theological scholarship, contemplation, and occasionally extreme vows of silence.
Kadarites
A Cartouzhi sect of the Faith, concentrated in Va Famon. This all-male sect was originally considered heretical, but its ideas have now become relatively mainstream. Kadarite scholars wear heavy veils outdoors and have a particular reverence for women, and live humble lifestyles.
Ossians
Another Cartouzhi sect, whose major theological ideas center on the concept of Divine Laughter. Ossian scholarship was highly influential on the evolution of the contemporary Faith.
